Advertising Your Student Organization and Campus Events

Post your event to the Student Announcements.  (You will need your ODU email/MIDAS account login information to use this service.)


Post your event to the University Calendar.  (You must be a recognized student organization and the event must be open to the whole university community.  You will need your ODU email/MIDAS account login information to use this service.)


To post a slide on Axis TV (Channel 37.1 on the televisions around campus, including Webb Center and the residence halls), e-mail one Powerpoint slide to axistv@odu.edu.  No white backgrounds please, and be sure to include all relevant information on the slide including a contact phone number or e-mail.


Advertise your organization's upcoming event by creating posters and banners in the Sign Room.  The Sign Room is located at 1069 Webb Center (within the U-center).  The sign room is equipped with Paper and pre-pressed shapes and letters.  Student can check-out sign room markers from OSAL, 1071 Webb Center (located next to the sign room). Please bring your student ID. 


Need a few copies of an agendas or flyers for your student organization.  Stop by OSAL's front desk and we'll be happy to run a few free copies for you.  Copies are run in black on white or color paper.  In most cases, copies are made immediately.  Copies can also be placed in your organization's mailbox at 1071 Webb Center for pick up later.  ***Large copy quantities are processed off campus and a charge is applied to your organization's account.  Please fill out a green sheet to charge copy expenses to your budget.  Contact CA Copies at (757) 440-4001 for pricing and to arrange services. 


Order full color posters for your organizations.  To order your poster please submit a pdf of your poster in the appropriate scale for the respective size desired. Posters are 24inces X 36 inches ($10).  Submit your request to jdarr@odu.edu at least four business days prior to desired pick up date, and call 757-683-3446 to confirm order, payment details and pick up time.  Four posters maximum per student organization's event.  Payment for this service can be made by cash, check, or student organization on campus account. 

Publicize your events by making buttons.  Button machine can be checked out for Free at OSAL.  Student organizations order supplies based on desired # of buttons.  Supplies are available for a minimum of 50 buttons ( $15) and a maximum of 300 buttons ($90).  Larger quantities can be accommodated based on availability of supplies.  Please place orders at least one week prior to desired check out date; so we can confirm availability of machine and supplies. Please call 757-683-3446 or visit OSAL to place order, payment details and desired pick up time. Button machine must be used in Webb Center, and returned by to 5pm of checked out day. Payment for this service can be made by cash, check, or student organization on campus account. 


Want to create a website for your student organization? Follow these easy steps:

  1. Obtain a WWW account for your organization by completing the WWW Account Request Form (PDF) and submitting it to the Office of Student Activities and Leadership (OSAL) to obtain the approval signature in the Budget Unit Director section. OSAL will complete the budget code section and then will forward your request to OCCS upon approval.
  2. You will receive an email once your WWW account has been established that will walk you through the next steps. Be sure to check out the ODUEdit Pro option - it is easy and ideal for novices and provides templates to assist you with your design.
