Monarch Leaders Retreat
Start: January 11, 2013 at 10am
End: January 12, 2013 at 3pm
The Monarch Leaders Retreat includes food, transportation, and leadership development for a minimal fee of $10. Student organizations may cover the $10 registration fee.
Current student organization officers are encouraged to register and attend the Monarch Leaders Retreat. The retreat will be held at Airfield 4-H, Wakefield, VA. The retreat provides participants the opportunity to further explore their personal leadership style and develop strategies to effectively lead others. Participants will have the opportunity to connect with other student leaders, faculty, and staff on campus. The retreat includes team building activities, a networking dinner and panel, and much more!
As a result of participating in the Monarch Leaders Retreat, students will be able to:
- Demonstrate thorough understanding of the Five Practices of the Student Leadership Practice Challenge.
- Demonstrate and foster behaviors consistent with the Five Practices (Model the Way, Inspire a Shared Vision, Challenge the Process, Enable Others to Act, and Encourage the Heart).
- Develop skills to train other organization members on the practices of exemplary leaders.
- Determine actions for becoming better leaders by increasing the frequency and comfort with which they engage in various leadership behaviors.
